The second book is called "Way Worse Than Being A Dentist"
Way Worse Than Being a Dentist: The Lawyer's Quest for Meaning
And the SEQUEL has just come out!
STILL Way Worse Than Being a Dentist
I've written a comic novel about a therapist, called "Bad Therapist: A Romance"
...or come by my office and I'll sign one for you.
Nice. I’ll have to check it out. I know a few people who might be getting these for Christmas!
Nice one! I like the cover and title. I look forward to reading it.
Will you be doing any more posts in the ATL series? They are awesome.
Yes, the weekly ATL posts will start up again in 3 days. And thank you. I appreciate your reading – and I’m excited to get back to work.
Nice to see you back, your posts have helped me. Will you be taking e mail questions/help requests again?
Sure – send them in!
OK, the title has me laughing – probably as intended – because I heard for years that dentists were so depressed, dentists were suicidal, and I kept wondering “HOW could being a dentist be so much worse? I mean, aside from the spit and bad breath issue – but I’ve worked with lawyers who spat when they talked and had bad breath….”
Now, finally, the truth will be uncovered.
You know I’m all about uncovering the truth…
The pieces have all been reedited (digitally remixed!) with some added commentary – and there’s a new introduction and an entire section at the end with all-new stuff, including one really long piece. Hope you like it. W
Will, I’m just really proud to be a human with you. You are doing great work for the world. Just goes to show, that MSW is worth ten times the JD in terms of actual power to effect change. (And I say that as a lawyer).
Thank you. I’m flattered, and I’ll do my best to live up your words.
One other question: you mentioned that the eBook version will be available by the end of the week. The BN website says that the paperbook will not be available until November 1st…will the eBook be coming earlier, or did you mean that the contract to publish electronically will be completed by the end of the week? I’m not asking to nitpick, I’m just really looking forward to reading the book.
Everything’s set to go on my end…it’s just the delay built into the system. The Nook version should be up within days, maybe hours. And the paperback might be available sooner than November 1st – that’s the outside date, so far as I know. Amazon has the Kindle version available right now – there’s no reason for any hold-up on the Nook, except bn.com bureaucracy.
Hi Will, I love, love, love your posts! They are really helpful and insightful. I’m really looking forward to reading your book. I have an email question/help request. Can you please do a post on How To Survive in a Law Firm for staff? They don’t have it as bad as the lawyers since they don’t have the billable hour requirement, but I still think it’s a tough place to work. Thanks so much!
Congrats, Will! So happy for you. I am sending around the Kindle link right away to some friends of mine. Did you self-publish with BookBaby? Love them!
Thanks! Yep – BookBaby did a great job. I just wish the printers handling the paperback would move a bit quicker…
I couldn’t believe the title of your book when I saw it, I just left my first year of law school to go to dental school. Love your columns, and I’ll be sure to grab a copy of the book.
Have you met LawProf (Prof. Paul Campos) at the Inside the Law School Scam blog yet? If not, you two should have interesting things to say to one another when you become acquainted.
Just got the Kindle version, and can’t wait to read it. I’ve sent your site to sooooooo many people, particularly those dating Biglaw lawyers and trying to understand them.
Can’t wait to read it. I recently made my exit from the legal profession, and your posts have been a source of laughs, inspiration, and comfort.
